Havan in the 16th cent. You can see the church in the center, the Castillo de la Real Fuerza due north, and El Morro and El Castillo de San Salvador de la Punta flanking the entrance to the harbor. Even with all that they had to build a 4th fortress to protect El Morro from assault by land, which the English pulled off in 1762.
