In March we made our annual trip down to visit old friends in California. This time we stayed with Austin and Monica and their 3-year-old lad Owen. We had a wonderful work-cation, visiting the beach, the Descanso Gardens, Travel Town, and Venice. We saw as many friends as we could fit into the ten day trip, culminating with a huge BBQ at the Dyrdahls’ pad. It was crazy to see how many of our pals have families, and it was a real treat to get them all in one place. Rach and I exchanged many “why did we ever leave!?” glances, because the visit was so magical. (But then we got stuck in traffic and were given one reminder.) Josef could not have been a better traveler: hardly a peep on both flights! Though after about a week he seemed ready to go home so ten days might have been pushing it.
