Here are a bunch of photos from Josef’s and my trip down to Southern California. Again, I am limited on my time so I’m just kind of dumping a bunch of pictures on here for you to browse. Hopefully you can get a sense of the narrative of our trip.
It really could not have been any more wonderful! We took the Amtrak down to Burbank. It was almost a 30 hour trip but we had our own cozy little sleeper car and the journey just flew by so happily. I was actually a little sad when we arrived!
We stayed at Uncle Rob’s house and got in lots of quality visiting time with dear old friends. We visited Central Casting, the Natural History Museum and Science Center, the Santa Monica pier, and Travel Town railroad museum. We attended an incredible beachfront firework display with our cousins in Long Beach and rockin’ pool party at Rob’s house, where Josef stayed up til 11pm partying in the hot tub with a bunch of music industry folks. We spent a couple hours each day playing in parks teeming with children all of whom were so friendly and engaging and well-behaved. (I must say, the city parks in Los Angeles are amazing! So much to do and so full of fun kids.)
We then hopped another train down to Escondido to spent some time with the Buchanans and even had a 5-man family jam session, playing Josef’s favorite tune in the world : “Get Lucky.” Finally, we stayed a night in San Diego with my oldest friend and her new family. A nice peaceful end to a whirlwind trip!
We flew home from San Diego 10 days after we left town on the train, exhausted and filled to the brim with good times. Josef was the perfect little travelling companion, as always. It was truly a spectacular trip and I feel myself getting a little misty just remembering it all…

What treasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much Hans. Priceless
