The holidays came and went in a blur this year. Once again we convened at Auntie Nin’s house in Salem for a sumptuous feast. It was absolutely pouring rain, but there was a break in the evening just long enough for us to enjoy a nice post-meal stroll.
Christmas was really enjoyable this year. We kept things intimate and mellow in the morning, and then had the family over for a feast later. Josef was content to spend the day building his new Lego set (some kind of Santa Monica Pier pirate roller coaster) while the family just relaxed and played board games all day. I got a couple really fun new games (Photosynthesis, Blokus, Kingdomino). I daresay it was the most fun I’ve had hanging out in my own home since we moved back to Oregon!
