Fall 2019

Hello folks; I will attempt to cram in a short synopsis of our autumnal activities before tax season subsumes all the extraneous time in my life. It would seem that the length of my posts is inversely correlated to Josef’s age. By the time he’s 13 I expect these little entries to be reduced to “Here are some pics!” Oh well, I suppose by 2026 his entire life will be captured by hovering video drones, so you can just watch whatever bits you find interesting…

Among the photos you will find below: Josef’s birthday in Septmber, a canoe adventure for Zeb’s birthday, Michalemas pageant at school, his first sleepover with Auguste, Gramheart’s new puppy Raleigh.

I’m happy to say that Josef still loves to wrestle and snuggle. This is a boy that seems to crave intense physical contact. I will relish these snuggles and physical intimacy for as long as I possibly can; knowing some day the thought of cuddling up with o’l Dad will yield an “Eww!”

He still loves building Legos – perhaps more than ever! He has been building up an impressive collection of his own “builds” for use in his self-created Lego theme: “Crystal Hunters.”

His drawings are getting more and more elaborate and detailed; he can fill a small book with a narrative. He’ll do little cutaways and thought bubbles and things that resemble a graphic novel (with stick figures). I included a pic of a mad scientist lab below.

One of his most endearing and welcomed efforts of late is the “Puppy Butler,” where by a cute little Sharpei or Weimaraner will deliver coffee to a sleeping parent in bed. I can’t think of a better way to start the day.

All in all I would say this fall was a very sweet time for all of us.
