This fall was filled with lots of live music and travel! Given the last year I guess I felt there is no time like the present to enjoy the things I love. I got to see Air, Sturgill Simpson, Michael Kiwanuka, and Brittany Howard. I also went to my first ever 49er game, which is crazy that it took me this long! In November I took a 3 week trip to Peru to backpack in the Andes and attend a retreat; I’ll hopefully have some pictures of that posted some day. So it was a pretty good year for adventure.
Josef celebrated his 12th birthday with a bunch of pals at “Defy,” an indoor trampoline park. Hot Cheetos and Sour Patch Kids flowed like wine. In October the 7th Grade took a camping trip to the coast where they started working on their play, “NeverEnding Story,” in which Josef got the role of the main villain!
The big event however was our trip to Southern California for Halloween. We spent three days at Disneyland and California Adventure, staying at the Californian Lodge right inside the park. This was something I’d fantasized about ever since my LA days, so it was really special that we got to make it happen. Two of my best pals joined us, and it was awfully fun to be bombing around the park with my two best friends and my son. After that we stayed with my cousin in Burbank, going to the Magic Castle and later an over-the-top Halloween party. There really is no better city to celebrate Halloween in than Los Angeles.
