Below are some images from life as a seven-month-old. As you can see the beach is figuring large in his life!
As I write this, Josef is already over 8 months old. He is almost 30″ tall and almost 20lbs. He is very much in his body and aware of the world around him, and constantly wants to be interacting with it. He can belly crawl across the room when it suits his purpose (though he usually finds it easier to make noises of discontent until someone comes and picks him up). He can move from seated to lying to seated with ease. He just started pulling himself up to standing, when the conditions are right. He is getting more effective and grabbing small morsels with his thumb and index finger and putting them in his mouth. Lately he likes to flap and wave his arms in the air for amusement, and he enjoys banging two wooden balls together to hear the clacking noise. If I hold one ball out to him he’ll bang on it with another.
It’s really a delight for me to be able to play and interact with him, and to watch the speed with which his various skills develop. What is accomplished with utmost struggle one day, becomes routine the next. One of my greatest joys is to see the look of excitement and pride on his face when he accomplishes something difficult or new.
The biggest news is that last night I felt his first tooth coming through! Perhaps that explains the 4am screechfests…
