IT’S ON.
Hello all. This is my attempt to reconcile my desire to share pictures with loved ones, with my curmudgeonly contempt for The Internets. When I was a kid we just crowded around the photo album every year or so, or maybe pulled out the projector and watched old reels of baby movies on a white sheet hung on the wall. Hopefully we will be doing some of that too, but for my friends and family that are distant I can certainly appreciate the value in posting photos online. Unfortunately, most sites that let you do that either bombard you with advertisements, don’t let you download the photos for your own use, or claim ownership to the content you post. Hopefully I will have side-stepped some of these issues with my WordPress site here… (I already had the domain name of manandyak.com from a previous adventure, so I figured I might as well make the most of it. Maybe some day we can upgrade to shlawooky.com or something.)
I don’t plan on using this like a “blog” where I will be routinely posting musings and rants and what have you. I’ll just upload some pics now and again and maybe some back story. So I encourage you to subscribe so that you can get an email whenever this happens. I promise not to bombard you!
If you are curious about the title at the top of our page, it’s a reference to a favorite song of ours, which speaks to the awe and beauty of this miraculous world that we live in, and the reverence and joy we hope will be the heartbeat of our new family.
