Yucatan Adventure

Here are a bunch of photos from our trip to Mexico in November. Unfortunately WordPress has updated their user interface and I’m not presently inclined to learn how to use it–thus the pictures are presented in completely random order with no captions and no thumbnails. I will leave it up to you to figure out what everything is!

It was a fantastic trip–our first real vacation as a couple since 2011. We enjoyed every minute of it and were absolutely blown away by the Mayan culture. We visited Coba, Chichen Itza, and Ek Balam. Each was special in it’s own way. Coba had the 2nd tallest pyramid in the Mayan world, and you could climb it. Chichen was the most preserved. Ek Balam was probably the fav because you could still climb on and explore anything you wanted. It also had perfectly preserved stucco carvings which we did not see anywhere else. There is so much to see there, and the history is so rich, we hope to return soon.

Such great photos!! Love the “foot shots”. The stone structures, carvings, art are over the top fascinating!! I wonder if the natives would have built those things if they had the heavy equipment we have today…
