Going Away Party

We had a little send off at a park in Santa Monica before we left town.  It was really great to be surrounded by so many friends and loved ones.  Every so often there is an event that brings together the various factions in my life, usually a wedding or baby shower or something, and I always really enjoying seeing old friends from work mingling with cousins from Oregon, or guys from my ManKind Project circle mixing it up with Rachael’s Law School buddies.  This was definitlely one of those occasions.  We tucked in to a huge mess of carne asada and homemade pie, tossed the frisbee around, and played with the kids while listening to Willie Colon and Fela Kuti.  It really couldn’t have been nicer; it’s one of those days that will always stay with me.  Thanks to everyone who turned out!
